GAME NIGHT - Math Games! July 8

Who has not had a student bemoan their math class?  From multiplication to algebra, geometry to calculus, surely there is not a more maligned subject than mathematics.  Fear not, here at Over The Rainbow Toys, math isn't scary - it's fun!

Set is the first game we’re playing this week for those ages 6 and up, but don’t be fooled by the low age—this game is fun and challenging for people of all ages.  You have to make sets of cards based on the things that they do or do not have in common.  It’s fast and furious and one of my favorite games. 

Pass the Pigs(7 and up) is the second game we have running this week.  You roll a pair of pigs just like dice, and based off of how they land you get a certain number of points.  You roll as long you like, but if you don’t bank your points before a pig out, you lose your points and your turn.  Pass the Pigs is fun and portable, a great game to bring on camp-outs.

Finally this week we have Over and Out also for ages 7 and up.  Every round you add cards to the pile, the total getting closer and closer to the maximum for the round, but don’t be the one to drive it over or you’ll lose.  This game requires quick addition and as much strategy as you care to muster.
